TLA Board Report

  • Treasurer’s Balance Report, Balances as of April 14, 2025, Total Funds: $533,472.38, Operating Account: $315,656.95, Lifeguard Fund: $10,280.68, Money Market: $207,534.75

  • Delinquent Notices: Sent out on April 3rd. Late interest is now accruing.

  • Outstanding Dues/Assessments: $130,537 still unpaid across 190 accounts.

  • Taxes: Mailed out today.

  • Engineering Update:

Still waiting on DEP and Pinelands Commission approvals.

Response received from the Conservation District.

Project remains on track for construction to begin by the end of the year.

  • Bittern Lake: Tree cleanup scheduled with Cornerstone for May 5th.

  • Fish Stocking:

Last stocking occurred in 2021: 2,500 carp, bass, bluegill, and feeder fish (shiners).

We do not stock fish annually due to the high cost of assessment.

Consider budgeting for a future stocking (Steve & Robby Wulwerth).

Suggest planting aquatic vegetation along the lake margin to improve habitat.

Next step: reach out to a resident about a possible donation, aiming for a mix of larger bass and vegetation

  • Tree Work: All reported downed trees scheduled for removal on May 5th and 6th.

  • Beach Maintenance:

Keith from Hydrogreen to schedule a meeting in the second week of May.

Clean-Up Day to be held after May 3rd.

Porta-potties to be delivered prior to Clean-Up Day.

Lifeguard shed to be cleaned out during Clean-Up Day.

Ropes to be installed before Memorial Day.

  • Fishing Signs: Reports of residents using cut-up fish for bait. Jeremy to order signs for all lakes to discourage this.

  • Lifeguard Update:

Goal: 10–12 lifeguards for the season; 7 confirmed so far.

Some require recertification, which is scheduled for June.

Returning guards to receive a $1/hour raise.

Hours to remain the same as last year.

  • New Residents: Nini to update on the process for account setup and email communications.

  • Volunteer Social Proposal:

Host an evening social at the pavilion this summer.

BYOB and bring a snack to share.

Opportunity to mingle and sign up for events or committees.

Could become an annual tradition if successful.

  • Beach Opening: Preparations underway.

  • Medford Ordinance:

Discussion on proposed law regulating commercial events on private property attracting over 50 people.

     Possible impact on our events.

  • Next meeting – May 12, 2025 – Pavilion
